The Picto Workshop: Expertise for Your Custom Projects
Since its inception, Picto has supported photographers with expertise initiated by Pierre Gassmann, the founder and soul of Picto. Today, this service is provided by experienced craftsmen associated with an image of quality, complicity, and seriousness: photo prints by appointment, advice for your exhibitions, discovery of new printing processes, etc.
In our workshop, photo prints are made in your presence. We place particular importance on the relationship between the photographer and their printer.
We offer you the expertise of a technician and the sensitivity of a discerning eye. This is how we remain true to our ambition to "See with the eyes of the other."
PICTO and Its Corporate Social Responsibility
For several years now, PICTO has been addressing the various social, economic, and environmental challenges related to its activities. PICTO has been Imprim'Vert certified for its two printing sites since 2009 and PEFC and FSC® certified since 2020 for its large-format site in Gennevilliers. Since 2016, through the "PICTO Foundation," PICTO has been leading and participating in programs to support image creators through professionalization, inclusion, and the preservation of know-how. Additionally, PICTO regularly invests in new equipment to improve the quality of its services and meet the various needs of its customers.
Recently, PICTO conducted its first Carbon Footprint® for 2023, enabling it to define actions to reduce its environmental footprint, with objectives to increase the share of recycled and recyclable materials and to work with its suppliers to improve environmental impact. Furthermore, since 2024, PICTO has chosen a renewable energy electricity contract for each of its production sites and is working on optimizing its packaging to reduce the number of materials.
All "CSR" actions are organized and monitored to achieve the objectives that PICTO sets regularly. They are evaluated annually, notably through our EcoVadis® rating, and PICTO achieved the "Gold" level in 2024, ranking PICTO among companies with an "advanced" approach.
Through its commitments, PICTO is engaged in the continuous improvement of the quality of its productions while simultaneously reducing their environmental impact.
Our Consumables
Photo Process: Products comply with REACH regulations, and their treatment falls under our Imprim'Vert certification.Digital Process: Inks are water-based, with some labeled Greenguard.
Recycled and Recyclable Materials: We are increasingly seeking recycled and/or recyclable materials. Today, 53% of our materials are made from recycled materials, and 69% are recyclable.
98% of the materials in our packaging are recycled and recyclable.
Recognitions
Since 2009, the Imprim’vert label has been awarded to Picto by the Printing Innovation Center (P2i). It rewards companies that adhere to five key principles:
- Proper waste management - securing and storing products (new and those awaiting collection) to avoid any risk of accidental pollution,
- Excluding toxic products (marked with a skull) from warehouses,
- Raising customer awareness of best practices for an eco-friendly attitude,
- Monitoring energy consumption.
Since September 2024, we have been evaluated at the "Gold" level by EcoVadis, which assesses the CSR approach and performance of companies around four themes: environment, social and human rights, ethics, and responsible procurement.
This year, 2020, we obtained our chain of custody certifications for the FSC® and PEFC labels.
These FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) labels have implemented specifications specific to each of them so that wood production complies with procedures guaranteeing sustainable forest management.

Its objective is to promote the responsible management of the world's forests. This means management that is ecologically appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable, enabling us to meet the needs of current and future generations. Our FSC Mixed and Recycled certification implies our commitment to using only paper or cardboard from well-managed forests that are FSC® certified, recycled, or from other controlled sources.

It certifies sustainable forest management and brings together 53 countries around the world around a multifunctional and balanced vision of forests. For 20 years, PEFC France has been promoting balance between the environmental, societal, and economic dimensions of forests through guarantees of sustainable practices.
